Create/Cancel Part II at Bus Projects July 2014, presents a collaborative work between Sophie Westerman and Jaime Powell. They explore opposing impulses in an ongoing project.
In their own practices, they perform actions that are conflicting to each other. Sophie creates an image by the process of mental and material elimination until the element essential to the image is reached. Jaime uses the process of layering information over and over to distort and deflect meaning.
This exhibition of lithographs has been created through actions that seek to validate both addition and erasure as deliberate and legitimate marks.
